DISSA-PEER Tablets were
developed by Emile Champion, R.Ph., in his pharmacy in Alice, Texas, in 1985.
Customers suffering from cold sores, fever blisters, and canker sores often
stated that available over-the-counter products they tried were not effective in
preventing or treating their mouth ulcers.
He started selling L-Lysine, which has anti-viral
properties, and had been shown to work against mouth ulcers, but the customers
still weren’t satisfied. He began compounding a product in his pharmacy, adding
zinc and thiamine to increase the effects. Thiamine speeds up protein
metabolism, and zinc has added anti-viral properties to help tissue heal.
He tested the product with customers suffering from mouth
ulcers, adding a little more thiamine and zinc until customers began reporting
increased effectiveness. The formula that was most successful contains 325 mg
of L-Lysine, 25 mg of thiamine (vitamin B-1), and 20 mg of zinc gluconate.
A product was born, and more importantly, many sufferers of mouth ulcers tell us
that DISSA-PEER is the “only thing” that has worked
effectively for them
Mr. Champion is gone now but his children carry on his great product.
